Book Launch, May 2025
This was also HYPHEN’s first event without its mentor, Professor Amiya Kumar Bagchi, whose absence was deeply felt.
We were honoured to have Professor Rajat Kanta Ray with us, whose reflections anchored the event. The discussions were further enriched by thought-provoking talks from Professor Priya Sangameswaran and Professor Arabinda Samanta. But Sekhar Bandyopadhyay could not be present with us. His absence was especially felt, as he wrote the foreword to one of the volumes released.
The event was graced by many distinguished scholars as well as young students and researchers. Copies of the edited book were distributed to all contributors as a small token of appreciation.
The books released:
1. Imaging Pains in the Social Margins by Prasanta Ray
2. Heard and Unheard: Miscellany of Marginalities, edited by Prasanta Ray and Apalak Das
HYPHEN had the privilege of launching Prasanta Ray's new book (Everyday Lifeworlds of Paintings: Possibilities of Materialist Histories) at Presidency University on March 9, 2024. The book was released by Professor Amiya Kumar Bagchi, followed by discussions by Professor Anuradha Roy and Professor Rajarshi Dasgupta.
